Golden Crown Karonda
The karonda fruit is a rich source of iron and contains a fair amount of Vitamin C. It is anti scorbutic and very useful for cure of anemia. Glazed Karonda is widely used as a topping on bakery products such as cakes, pastries, etc. Because of its size, shape and added food colour, Glazed Karonda acts as a substitute of Red Cherry fruit. It's attractive looks make it a nutrition-rich decorative item in ice-creams, pudding, custard, fruit cream and other sweets. Diced Karonda is often used in fruit biscuits/ cakes. It is also very popular as an ingredient in "Paan" and authentic sweets.
